Grandi Storielle is a blog with no advertising and no profiling. This page explains, briefly, which personal data pass through here, why, and what you can ask for. You don’t need to give us anything to read the stories: you share your contact details only if you choose to subscribe to the newsletter or write to us.
Who is responsible
The data controller is Carola Speranza. For any question or request about your data, write to grandistorielle19@gmail.com.
Newsletter
If you subscribe to receive new stories by email, your address is stored by WordPress.com (Automattic Inc. and, for people living in Europe, Aut O’Mattic A8C Ireland Ltd.), which sends the emails on our behalf and counts how many are opened and how many links are clicked. We use your address for nothing else, based on the consent you give us by subscribing. You can unsubscribe at any time with the link at the bottom of every email: from then on the address is no longer used. We keep it as long as you are subscribed; if you want it gone completely, write to us.
Comments
Comments are closed. For those left in the past, WordPress keeps the name, email address, text of the comment, IP address and browser type, published with the consent of the people who wrote them. Your email is never shown. To display your profile picture, if you have one, Automattic’s Gravatar service receives a code derived from your email (a hash). The comment and the related data stay until you ask us to remove them.
Hosting and statistics
The site is hosted by WordPress.com (Automattic Inc., a company based in the United States). Automattic logs the technical data of each visit (IP address, browser, requested page) for the security and operation of the service, and provides us with aggregate statistics on visits (Jetpack Stats): we see how many people read what, not who they are. We do this based on our legitimate interest in keeping the site secure and knowing which stories are read. Stats logs, including IP addresses, stay with Automattic for 28 days; other technical data for the periods stated in its privacy policy. Data may also be processed outside the European Union: Automattic protects them with the standard contractual clauses approved by the European Commission, as its privacy policy explains.
Embedded content
The home page has the player of our podcast on Spotify. The player loads only when you tap it: from that moment Spotify may set its own cookies and record your listening according to its privacy policy. Before you tap, nothing is sent to Spotify. Under every story there is the WordPress.com “Like” button: it is an Automattic widget, it works only with a WordPress.com account and, if you have one and are logged in, it uses the cookies of that service.
Cookies
We use no profiling or advertising cookies, so there is no banner to accept. There are only technical cookies: the one that remembers the language you chose (it lasts one year), the one that remembers your newsletter subscription, and the WordPress.com ones needed for operation and security.
Your rights
You can ask at any time which data we hold about you and get a copy, also in a format you can take elsewhere, have it corrected or deleted, or restrict its use, for example to remove a comment or a subscription. You can also object to the use of your data for statistics, security and spam checks, and withdraw at any time the consent you gave us. Just email grandistorielle19@gmail.com. If you believe the processing breaks the law, you can complain to the Italian Data Protection Authority (Garante per la protezione dei dati personali).
